The Dean's take on Stan

Stan drives me crazy. Just once, I'd like to wrestle the guy down and get my hands around his ... wallet. He thinks that he has it all, but he doesn't. More important, he doesn't need it all and there's no way he can afford it all.

I've known Stan for more than 20 years and I've never seen him make what I'd call a wise financial decision. He has the ability to be financially secure; it's just that his choices have been misguided. He's a “got to have it all right now” kind of guy. There's not an ounce of deferred gratification in his DNA.

But it's never too late. Maybe the light will come on. Maybe I can help. I'm thinking, it's intervention time.
